Woolacombe Beach Retreats offers premium self-catering accommodation in one of the UK’s most beloved seaside locations. With spectacular coastal views and stylish interiors, their properties are perfect for families, couples, and beach lovers looking for a luxury getaway.
Having partnered with Big Bear on multiple successful projects, the team entrusted us once again, this time with the full redesign and development of their website to support their next phase of growth.
The Challenge
The existing website had become a major obstacle to growth for Devon's favourite Beach Retreats. This made it challenging for the internal team to update the website as needed, and adding new features or content required external support, which limited flexibility.
Mobile performance and overall user experience were also lacking. With more guests browsing and booking on mobile devices, the outdated site created friction in the booking journey and failed to reflect the quality of the accommodation.
Visually, the website no longer did justice to the brand. The outdated design made it difficult to communicate the character and appeal of the beach retreats, and it limited the team’s ability to showcase the full guest experience.

We designed a modern, visually rich website that reflected the relaxed, coastal feel of a Woolacombe retreat. The new layout offered a seamless booking experience and showcased each property through large-format imagery and curated content.
We restructured the content to better showcase each retreat, using large-format photography and refined layouts to reflect the premium nature of the offering. Local experiences, key amenities, and guest highlights were integrated to position the brand as more than just a place to stay - it became part of the overall destination appeal.
Seamless Content Management
As the property’s needs evolved, so too did the requirements of their website. We ensured the entire platform was built to be easily managed by their team.
Updates to imagery, booking options, special offers, and site content can now be made in real time - without waiting on third-party support.
